Abby Abadi (birth name: Arbaiyah Abdul Manan) was born on December 1, 1977 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. She is a famous Malaysian actress starring on the popular police drama, titled ‘Gerak Khas’. Not only Abby Abadi is an ex-member of the all-girl singing group called ‘Elite’ (that she left in 1998), but she also has been a co-host in the Wheel of Fortune-based game show ‘Roda Impian’ during its second season for some time. Later, Abby Abadi left the show and her great career was about to begin.

In 2000 she played one of the roles in the film ‘Pasrah’, directed by Yusof Haslam. The movie is mainly about top model Farah Diba who is shocked and depressed, because of her long-standing fiance to be seduced by a jealous rival. But the role in ‘Pasrah’ was definitely not a reason just good enough to become so famous, not only in Malaysia.
Since 1999 Abby Abadi acts in TV series ‘Gerak Khas’ (by the same director, as the film mentioned above: Yusof Haslam). Abby is playing Inspektor Aleeza - one of the leads in this widely watched police drama. For she was playing this role, she won the Berita Harian’s Anugerah Bintang Popular Award for Most Popular TV Actress (quite remarkably - four times in a row - in 2000, 2001, 2002, and 2003).
The great popularity of Abby Abadi starring in ‘Gerak Khas’, finally led in 2001 to a hit feature film based on the series. Though it was followed by two sequels, the success was rather modest. In 2005, Abadi played a part as Atikah on ‘Kamasutra’.
Since 2002, Abby Abadi is married to her co-star, Norman Hakim (Inspektor Haris). Abby and Norman had a big marital crisis in 2006, when they nearly filed for divorce, but later they have renewed their vows.
